The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) will launch an Android-based pilgrim-friendly mobile application to disseminate information on the Sabarimala pilgrimage, Transport Commissioner R. Sreelekha has said.
She was addressing Sabarimala Sukhadarsanam, a debate series on the Sabarimala pilgrimage, at the Pathanamthitta Press Club Hall on Wednesday.
Ms. Sreelekha, who is also the State Road Safety Commissioner, was accompanied by E.S. James, Deputy Transport Commissioner, and P.D. Sunilbabu, Regional Transport Officer (Enforcement).
She said a Kochi-based company had agreed to satisfy various specifications proposed by the department for the mobile application named Tatwamasi. The aim was digital dissemination of information on every aspect of the pilgrimage, include puja timings, various offerings (vazhipadu), route map, transportation facility, traffic rules to be followed by motorists, cautionary messages issued by the State Transport Authority, traffic arrangements, and so on, she said.
